Today I met with Faris Yakob – EVP Chief Technology Strategist at McCann Erickson New York. I have been following his writings for quite some time now. He is a thought leader and an inspiration to me and many others within the digital & brand communications world. ‘I’m trying to work out how we communicate in a networked world, how we can make people happy, how we can do awesome stuff that is useful or entertaining or both.’

day 60: church of rock
Today I met with advertising veteran Cindy Gallop to talk about a ‘world changing project’ she is working on. Cindy was an executive at the highly respected agency BBH where she headed up Asia Pacific and NYC offices.
That aside, the real story I want to portray here is her exuberant loft apartment. Across from the infamous Chelsea Hotel, Cindy’s apartment was converted from a seniors locker room in an old YMCA building.
Her loft is home to 250-plus pairs of designer stilettos, a framed AK-47 stamped with the Chanel logo and a gold-painted Gucci chain saw (both by artist Peter Gronquist), a black leather Gucci spanking paddle, a pink-and-yellow YSL light installation among many other artifacts. I felt like I was walking around in a pop culture museum. Italian Vogue was using her apartment for a shoot when I was there. They are not the only ones – Nelly, Diddy, and Usher also used her apartment to shoot their video for “Nasty Girl”.

day 52: trash train
Makes me wonder why don’t more married couples get divorced?

I saw this ad in my gym today. My friend Jen asked me the other day ‘what do you think is the biggest kwirk you’ve seen in America’. I named a few things but Jen we have a new winner.
