To cut a long story short:
On day 8 I meet a local at a party; This local had an aussie flatmate; We meet tonight; She bought her Australian friend; It turns out we all share mutual friends. This is the Australian way. Meet my new friends Sascha and Linda.

hey nat – really really nice photos man, but i have to take offence at the heading of this one… you make it sound like australia is some inbred backwater where everyone knows everyone. i’m hardly some chest-beating aussie-flag-tattooed bra boy but you and i both know this provinciality is not the truth and only serves to give us aussies a bad name…
aaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway enough ranting… how’s it going anyway? livin’ the dream? you working yet? i’m gonna be in NYC in april some time for work, we should grab a beer
what? have you been in london for too long and lost your love for the motherland? it’s true tho everyone i meet seems to know someone else. another example is my friend gab in melbourne recognised her cousin in one of the photos at eight mile creek. 1 degree, i tell you, 1 degree.
defo look me up when you’re over here and we can discuss over a VB and Battered Sav. chat later.
[...] I even bumped in an old colleague of mine at TEQUILA who was holidaying in NYC – once again ‘us aussies are only ever separated by 1 degree‘ Thanks Anna for the fun [...]
