Tonight I visited Eight Mile Creek, which I’ve heard do much about. No shortage of Aussie accents but some really random ‘Australian’ dishes which I’ve never heard off.

day 9: spandex
This is part 2 of my longest day yet. Here is part 1 if you missed it.
At Trailer Park I was handed over to another group of new friends who took me to Harlem to listen to Jazz and eat soul food. I’ve been looking forward to this the whole week! The place was in the basement of a build with no signs. This was an American Legion club – bit like our RSL’s but 100 times smaller with no pokies or pool tables. In it’s place were soul food and old men getting down to a live jazz band. The photos below tells the tail….

Today was my 1 week anniversary in NYC. Feeling absolutely run down from the past week’s activities and debaucherous amount of drinking – I braved the cold again for what was my longest day yet. This day was separated into 2 parts. Here’s how part 1 goes…
In the morning I met up with some new friends Richard and Clare for Brunch at Essex Restaurant where the thing there was 3 cocktails and a dish for $16 and if you stay after you eat – all cocktails are $3. So that’s where it started and drinks carried on through Lower East Side till the night.

I met up with a new friend of mine Ravi for drinks at The Other Room, West Village. The photo below was taken outside.
Then onto meeting with another new friend Anne to see Felix da Housecat at Webster Hall for 10 bucks! Somehow I managed to loose my phone and there was no Anne or Felix but there was this photo….

Today I went to soho and checked out the Stephen Sprouse exhibition: Rock on Mars.
And shot some NYC street scenes
I was stopped on the street walking home by the station engineer of East Village Radio Station to shoot some photography for them. I said OK.

day 4: old mates and new friends
Today was a reunion of dear old school friends at 7B in East Village, where funnily enough, a scene from Crocodile Dundee was shot.
That night carried on to a Modular party somewhere in Chinatown. The guy next to me is a random bum who asked me for a ciggy.
Then my flatmate and I carried further on to a local bar/club, found some randoms (who have now become our friends) and had a party back at our place. Ahhh good times….

day 3: loft party
I attended my first NYC loft party in Tribeca. This was a creative social get together for swimwear designer, graphic designer/photograper and jewelry designer to showcase the work. A great group of people with and many good friends were made that night.

Day 2: doing the tourist thing
In the morning I find my way to the nearest subway station.
I catch the F train.
I go to Times Square and you could just feel from this photo how cold it was. But aparently it’s really quite warm as all the locals would tell me. Are you kidding me?! I just came from 47 degree heat!
I met up with one of my best buddies Nick who happend to be in NYC at the same time.
We go to the Gugg (enheim).
We eat hot dogs with sauerkraut and mozza balls.
And…we met a crazy cab driver who sang us Waltz Sing Matilda and proceeded to convert us into a some cult all while driving us to our destination!
